Calmed Streets and Public Space San Francisco Four Seasons Hotel
The public space intervention project involves restoring the streets within the area of influence of the Four Seasons San Francisco Hotel, located at the entrance to the Getsemaní neighborhood in Cartagena de Indias, as a living, flexible, humane, and sustainable public space.
The new model of public space is based on the review and updating of the factors that make up the city: a heritage that enhances its character and value as a material entity; a public space and the idea of urbanity that places people at the center, reinforcing proximity and strengthening its multifunctional use; and a green infrastructure that uses nature as an ally in resilience and mitigation of climate change. In this way, a new type of space is being introduced, a new reference landscape that also has the capacity to generate a new urban identity for Getsemaní.
The recovery of this public space we want is a place for those who inhabit it. A place that responds to the needs and desires of its inhabitants, granting them rights and opportunities.
This project was born from the desire to renew an urban environment and transform it into a welcoming refuge, full of character, functionality, and connection to its surroundings. Located high above the city, with privileged views of the Bogotá International Center, the interior design was conceived to enhance the experience of living from above, integrating comfort, aesthetics, and functionality.
The project was designed with a neutral color palette and warm tones that provide calm, sophistication, and timelessness. The choice of fine materials, natural textures, and custom woodwork created an immersive atmosphere where every element has a purpose.

TEXTURAS NATURALES, COLORES NEUTROS Y SOLUCIONES QUE OPTIMIZAN CADA METRO CUADRADO
The completely custom-designed furniture reflects a concept of adaptability and versatility. A storage trunk stands out, its lid transforming into a bench, inviting you to stop, sit, and admire the cityscape. This piece encapsulates the spirit of the project: beauty, utility, and integration with the surroundings.
Natural light was the centerpiece of the design. Its entrance was enhanced through the redistribution of spaces and the selection of light-reflecting finishes, providing visual spaciousness and a sense of well-being throughout the day. In contrast, the warm, targeted artificial lighting was designed to create versatile, comfortable, and enveloping environments at night.
Space optimization was key. Every square meter was utilized with smart solutions that allow the space to transform according to the user's needs. Furniture that folds away, surfaces that unfold, and spaces that flow.
In this project, design and functionality come together to offer a new way of living, where the interior interacts with the landscape, light is part of the furnishings, and every texture invites you to linger.
